The Hounds of Hyde Bark

Hundreds of hounds and their owners joined The Mayhew Animal Home for their annual Hyde Bark Event on the banks of the Serpentine last Sunday to show their support for the London Animal Welfare organisation. Tails were wagging at the chance to compete in the popular celebrity-judged dog show, have-a-go at the very amusing Temptation Alley or just cool off in the doggy paddling pools.

Celebrities such as Sir Tony Robinson, Heidi Mumford, Kate Lawler and TV Vet Marc Abraham all came along to show their support, but the stars of the day were most definitely all the gorgeous pups, pooches and hounds there to enjoy a doggy day out. We didn’t get to meet them all but we fell in love with those we did, here’s our ‘Hounds of Hyde Bark Hall of Fame’…

Velma

A gorgeous staffie mix puppy currently looking for a home and with that face it shouldn’t be too long until she finds it! Velma is an All Dogs Matter dog, another London Dog Rescue & Rehoming Charity who came along to support the day. See Velma’s profile.

Abi

A London dog event veteran and the much-loved All Dogs Matter office dog.

Nena

A friendly (and big) girl at just 9 months old from The Mayhew, looking for her forever home too! See Nena’s profile.

Holly and Gus

The hounds from London’s hippest hound boutique on the block, Holly & Lil’s known for their cool dog collars.

Hownd’s Hounds – Roxy and Laila

The gorgeous hounds form cruelty-free dog grooming brand Hownd.

Charlie

The talented Charlie, a rescue dog who took home the Best in Show and Best Veteran prizes.

George

Also a rescue and looking very dapper in his bandana. Demonstrating how well he is picking up his training (followed by a not so disciplined dash on my doggy treats bag).

Ruby Roo

Only a few months old and already attracting a lot of attention. This little girl is going to be a heart-breaker.

Norbett

First spotted on the have-a-go agility…

Then spotted stealing the show in the background at Temptation Alley. This cool canine will do whatever it takes for a treat.

Eva

Police dog Eva was on hand to demonstrate her exceptional obedience skills. Quite a few people (me included) wanted to send their pups to Police Academy as a result.

Scout

At 14 and a cancer survivor, Scout is one very special girl.

Lola

Adopted from the Mayhew Animal Home, Lola  knows how to strike a pretty pose.

Tallulah and Pablo

A handsome and friendly Frenchie duo. We are loving Pablo’s collar (from Holly and Lil’s), definitely a must have accessory for the Brazilian Dogvine Crew.

Benji and Alice

On hand to help spread the very important No To Dog Meat message.

Pablo

The second Pablo of the day but this little guy definitely thinks he is numero uno.

Violet

A beautiful and very gentle blue Shar Pei.

Rex

Rex took home 2nd in the Best Rescue Category and can also be found posing like a pro over on Instagram #rexpuppy

More Photos will be up on our Facebook Page shortly!
