As a London dog owner you probably already know there are varying degrees of dog-friendly so when we find a place that’s beyond dog-friendly we have to shout it from the rooftops! Safe to say we are literally in love with our latest dog-friendly cafe find, Paws For Coffee Sheen. Just one warm goat’s milk and black pudding puppuccino and the offer of a chicken foot was all it took to win Belinha over but more on that in a moment…
***UPDATED SEPTEMBER 2018***
Paws for Coffee Sheen has now changed it’s format and is only open Monday-Saturday until 2:30pm and no longer serves hot food only pastries, cakes and coffees. Doggy Puppuccinos are still available though!
Dog-Friendly Cafe Paws For Coffee | Human First Impressions
There are two branches of Paws For Coffee, one in Hampton Hill and the latest in Sheen which opened in October. We visited Paws For Coffee Sheen and the first thing that was clear was being dog-friendly was serious business at this dog-friendly cafe.
Doggos are even allowed to sit at the table with you and if that’s not their thing, you know those coat hooks that places sometimes have for humans under the tables, well at Paws For Coffee there are clips for dog leads at just the right height….love it!
The other thing we loved is wherever possible everything is doggy themed….plates, teapot warmers and even the tables…
The cafe is really spacious which is perfect from a doggo’s perspective and it meant that dogs of all sizes are most welcome. It was refreshing to see how a truly dog-friendly cafe can build a real community – within minutes we were chatting to the other owners and of course making a fuss of the pups…
Dog-Friendly Cafe Paws For Coffee | Doggy First Impressions
Let’s face it from a pooches perspective it’s all about the food so when they get their own Doggy Menu things are off to a pawsome start!
And what a doggy menu this is…warm Goats Milk and Black Pudding Puppuccino, yes please. Home-cooked sausage, yes please. Chicken Foot yes please (vegetarian human says not so much). Let’s face it, Belinha would have eaten everything on the doggy menu given the opportunity.
Paws Up For Paws For Coffee?
Think you’ve guessed by now that it most definitely is a paws up from both human and hound. We were fantastically looked after by Paws For Coffee manager Chris, who made sure every canine customer got plenty of treats and also their picture taken for the Paws For Coffee social media pages.
The human food was fabulous too…my partner who is a bit of a coffee connoisseur couldn’t stop raving about the coffee and the Avocado and Halloumi on Sourdough was delicious.
The freshly baked salted caramel brownie (on a doggy plate) was a winner too.
Honestly, you have to go visit Paws For Coffee, it’s just a 10 minute walk to Richmond Park (Sheen Gate) so a pawfect post walk pit stop and your dog will love you for it. On the Paws For Coffee website, owner Louise Rawlinson talks about how she wanted to make Paws For Coffee a ‘shrine to our much-loved pooches’ and she’s doing a pawsome job in our book.
