Doggy diaries at the ready for our round-up of pawsome London Dog Events for the weekend! It’s another busy one, not quite as many events as last weekend but still plenty to choose from!
There’s another chance to check out the dog-friendly cinema at The Exhibit as well as the All Dogs Matter Narrowboat Doggy Brunch this weekend. You can also still catch the Year of the (rescue) Dog Photo Exhibition or the Year of the Dog Fine Art Exhibition featuring Stars & Their Dogs which finishes Saturday. Both exhibitions are dog friendly.
London dog show aficionados can head down to the Canine Capers at Charlton House in Greenwich or the Abbeville Fete Dog Show in Clapham on Saturday and then there’s Canary Woof on Sunday which promises to be pawsome!
This weekend there are also several chances to lend a paw to support a good cause with Barnes Best Paw Forwards, Battersea’s Muddy Dog Challenge and Animal Aid’s Walk for the Animals.
As always, click on the event links below for more info on the line-up of London Dog Events for the weekend…

All Dogs Matter invite you to celebrate the Year of the Rescue Dog at our exhibition at Lauderdale House, Highgate Village 14th June-6th July and the exhibition is dog-friendly!
The photos have been taken by a host of different photographers including Rankin and will showcase our rescue dogs and their owners, plus a few of our special supporters like Ricky Gervais, Michelle Collins, Peter Egan and Rachel Riley.
‘Year of the Rescue Dog’ is a tribute to our dogs fascinating life stories; their journey from fear and neglect to their forever homes. We want the photos to show off how wonderful rescue dogs are and indeed how rewarding it can be to adopt one.
*** Our visit to the exhibition now on the blog here***
The prints will be available to purchase to help us raise more invaluable funds for our dogs in need. The private view on 13th June is open to the public and the exhibition runs from 14th June-6th July. Please check the website before you visit as the gallery is not open every day. Entry is free but donations are welcome!
All Dogs Matter are a local dog rescue and rehoming charity based near East Finchley, who take in and rehome abandoned/unwanted dogs from all over London. We could not do this without the support of the general public, we receive no government funding so all donations make a difference.
We decided to put the exhibition together on the back of an exponential rise in the number of homeless dogs being rescued across the UK. Thankfully a change in public attitudes has seen hundreds more people now deciding to rehome a dog instead of buying one.

Dog-Friendly Cinema Exhibit Streatham | Puppy Love Brunch Cinema Club
Dogs may be a man’s best friend, but all too often, they get the short end of the (chewing) stick and miss out on much of the human fun. This is why the pooch-friendly establishments of Exhibit Bars in South London are hosting a series of canine-friendly cinema screenings for dogs and their parents to enjoy together. Not only will the screenings feature some of the best doggy movies of all time, but dogs will be treated to bottomless treats and a glass (or bowl!) of Pawsecco on arrival. See our exclusive Balham Puppy Love Brunch Cinema Club Preview review here to see what it’s all about!
Exhibit Bars are well-known for their boutique cinema screens. In Balham, the 28-seat cinema features leather sofas where dogs and their parents can snuggle up together. Meanwhile in Streatham Hill, Exhibit B’s Dark Room screening area will become a canine paradise with blankets and cushions for the dogs to relax on. All Puppy Love Brunch Club films have been hand-picked to be dog friendly and will be presented with lower audio levels so as not to scare the dogs. The first films will be ‘Turner and Hooch’ and ‘Lady and the Tramp’. Tickets for screenings include brunch dish and an hour and a half of unlimited bubbles for human guests. Dogs go free and receive the full VIP treatment with bottomless treats, a glass of dog-friendly fizz on arrival, and as many hugs as they can cope with from the Exhibit team! The Puppy Love Brunch Cinema.
Tickets for Puppy Love Brunch (Film: Lady and The Tramp) are available from: Dog-Friendly Cinema Exhibit Streatham| £25– cinema + brunch + 1.5hrs unlimited bubbly for human guests.
There are also Puppy Love Brunches taking place at Exhibit Balham, see our London Dog Events Calendar for more info.

New Hope Animal Rescue Charity Photoshoot – we have a donation shoot for people with furbabies… and we couldn’t be more excited!
“It’s to raise much needed funds for New Hope Animal Rescue. The guys from New Hope sent us this so people can see who they are and what they do…
New hope is a non-destruct rescue based in so’uth east London. Our work tends to focus on providing emergency refuge and rehabilitation for animals in urgent situations for example: dogs in the pound system, animals dumped with nowhere to go or taken to veterinary surgeries for euthanasia and animals with behavioural and / or medical problems that have been turned away elsewhere. We take all animals into our care, from Turkeys and Pigs to Dogs and Cats and aim to provide a lifeline and some hope for as many of these forgotten souls as we can, offering to take them wherever possible from death row to a new beginning.
We have no paid staff and work full time in order to help fund the rescue so all donations go directly towards the animals in our care. Bills are always high from kennels to vets and fuel for transport, so we really do rely on people’s generosity to help us continue our work and help us to save the lives of as many animals as we can.
Thank you for your support, from all at NHAR”
