We’d like to give a HUGE paws up to The Narrowboat Pub in Islington for their Doggy Brunch which we went along to on Saturday. The doggy brunch was in aid of London Rescue & Rehoming Charity All Dogs Matter and was literally packed with dogs and their owners relaxing in the warm, friendly atmosphere just set back from Regents Canal.
It was really refreshing to see that The Narrowboat is such a dog-friendly pub and that it was all about the dogs. There were dogs wandering round the pub, others curled up in cosy armchairs and others literally drooling over the doggy treats on offer (and quite happy to pose for a pic in return for a few).
The Brunch menu was also doggy inspired, at first glance I thought it was for the hounds but on taking a closer look it was for us humans.
All the dogs seemed to be having such a good time and all for a great cause too. There were also doggie goodies to buy (we just love the witty lines on Growlees Dog Tags) and a Raffle with some doggie-licious prizes.
The Narrowboat is also ideal for a post-brunch stroll along the canal with it’s colourful riverboats. We took Faith, a Romanian rescue dog who was at the doggy brunch to the canal for an impromptu photo shoot. Faith is looking for her forever home and could really do with a helping paw to find her special someone.

Faith was a little super star and incredible to believe that only a few weeks ago she was fighting for her life on the freezing streets of Romania before being rescued by Angels for the Innocent Foundation, IAPWA and Red Panda Romania. Watch out for her story coming soon on the blog, in the meantime you can check out Faith’s profile on the All Dogs Matter website or contact: Anneka Svenska (Angels For The Innocent Foundation) on annekasvenska@gmail.com for more information.
