Dog Shop Bow Wow London Wins Time Out’s Love London Awards
Last week, Central London ‘dog shop’ Bow Wow London was voted London’s most loved shop in Time Out’s London Awards, proving that not only is it a winner with the capital’s canines but with their humans too.
Since September there have been nearly 16,000 nominations for almost 5,000 venues across London. This was followed by 75,000 votes to reveal the most-loved spots in each category – cafés, restaurants, shops, local culture and pubs – in every area of London. It’s no secret that Londoners love their hounds and Bow Wow London’s most loved shop win certainly shows they love their rover retail too!
Located in Earlham Street in the Seven Dials area of Covent Garden, founders Jason Maddocks and Taro Takeuchi (and owners of a Miniature Schnauzer called Barney), launched Bow Wow London in June 2013 after spotting the need for a pet boutique in the heart of London. The business has been growing in popularity ever since.
What makes Bow Wow London so popular is not just the gorgeous goodies they stock (more on that later) but the pawsome presentation and great service they give to their customers. With a clearly labelled A-Board reading ‘Dog Shop’ out front, there’s no question of who is the ‘customer’ at Bow Wow London. The fun and creative themed window displays such as doggie disco, street graffiti art or Christmas by the fireplace definitely draw you in and most importantly all four-legged visitors are rewarded for their patronage with a Chicken and Pollock Sandwich treat. Friendly and knowledgeable staff are also able to recommend a local dog walker and dog-friendly venues in the area.
Bow Wow London stocks a considered collection of petwear, accessories, fun costumes, beds, bowls and toys as well as food and treats focussed on healthy eating for your four-legged friend.
Products are sourced from around the world including Tokyo, Paris, Milan and London and this means that their unique range is not easily found elsewhere. From classic collars to crazy costumes (their Shark outfit is a No 1 seller) you’ll be sure to find something that appeals. For their international visitors (or just the patriotic amongst us), Bow Wow London also offers a collection of quality, Union Jack themed products such as a knitted sweater, collar, lead and soft bone.
