We haven’t had much luck with the weather this week but we’re pleased to report that things are set to perk up, not least because the sun finally came out today but because of the jam-packed social calendar for the London pup about town this weekend. There are not one but FOUR fabulous London Dog Events for you and your four-legged friend to choose from. Fair to say it’s going to be a busy weekend, here’s our pick of what’s on…
RSPCA Big Walkies
It’s going to be big and it’s coming to Crystal Palace Park, South London this weekend (there’s an equivalent event for North London later this month). You can choose to complete a 3k or 5k walk in support of a very good cause. It only costs £10 to enter one dog, £5 for any additional pooches and humans can come along for free. Register here. #BigWalkies
Reasons to Go: You have to take your dog for a walk anyway so why not raise money at the same time for dogs in need (and have a great time with hundreds of others whilst doing so). We think these pooches sum it up pretty well…

Richmond May Fair Dog Show
Hosted by the Vet on the Hill (as seen on TV), this dog show in leafy Richmond promises to be a fun day out for you and your four-legged friend. We’re told there will be over 100 charity stalls, a vintage carousel, a helter skelter and even some Maypole dancing. Who knew that was still a thing. Pre-register for the show here (£5 per entry).
Reasons to Go: It’s being hosted by the Vet on the Hill, Australian Dr Scott Miller. If you’ve seen the show (and you’re female) you’ll probably agree that’s a good reason.

All Dogs Matter Great Hampstead Bark Off 2016
This was one of our favourite events from last year’s London Dog Events (read all about it here). Set on the lovely Hampstead Heath, it’s not just about canines but cakes too. First comes the doggy-themed Bark Off baking competition then it’s followed by a celebrity hosted dog show. Last year our Belinha took home the Golden Oldies title (and lots of lovely prizes) and took quite a shine to countdown presenter Rachel Riley (lucky Rachel).
The event is hosted by London Rescue & Rehoming Charity All Dogs Matter so all proceeds from the event go to help support their dogs in need (they’ve rehomed 140 dogs so far this year and have another 40 waiting). So, if you think your pooch has what it takes to impress the judges, email info@alldogsmatter.co.uk to pre-register as places for the dog show sell out fast (£5 per entry).
Reasons to Go: The promise of a day full of canines AND cakes, lovely people and helping a local London charity make a real difference to the dogs in their care.

Oscar & Rupert Dog Friendly Cinema

If chilling is on the agenda this weekend, then what better place to do it than at London’s only Dog Friendly Cinema event. The first event last month was a huge success and tickets are selling out fast for this event hosted by London’s adorable pair of pups Oscar & Rupert. Tickets cost £18.50 per human, pups go free – get your tickets here.
Reasons to Go: How often do you get to go the cinema with your dog? Enough said.
