July is here in all it’s (sun-shining) glory, bringing with it another sizzling month of things to for London dogs. There are 40 events on the line-up so far and no doubt several more will pop-up throughout the month – so here’s our handy round-up of ‘London Dog Events And Things To Do July‘ to help you get your doggy diaries sorted!
And don’t forget, if you prefer to see the events in regular chronological date order, you can see this on our London Dog Events Calendar.
With summer deciding to finally stick around, it’s no surprise that outdoor events are de rigueur. For dogs that love a dog show, there will be plenty of chances to add to your rosette or trophy collection – our pick of the pack has to be Canary Woof, Mayhew’s Hounds on the Heath and All Dogs Matter’s Pup Idol. There is a chance that the dog shows will get canceled or postponed due to the hot weather so make sure to check the weather forecast before you go and that the event is still on.
London dogs are a social bunch and with lots of brunches, social walks and meetups to choose from this month, it’s the ‘paw-fect’ chance to meet old and new pup pals out and about. Plus London dogs will be celebrating Pride in style at Mildred the Sausage’s London Pride Party at Brewdog Soho or the Pride Pet Parade at Corazón Soho.
As always dog-friendly cinema is popular – Picturehouse Central has a new dog-friendly screening and then there’s the summer must at Neverland Fulham Beach…Tuesday night Beach Club Cinema!
And this month there’s a new doggy world record attempt – this time for the most dogs to paddle around the pier in Brighton (as featured in our guide to the Best Dog-friendly Festivals Near London! An event that would be just as pawsome to watch as to ‘pawticipate’ in we think.
Whatever you decide to do, make sure you stay hydrated and cool! You can click on any of the event links below for more details on the events…Happy July Puppers!

Event Details
Paddle Round the Pier is the largest FREE charity beach festival in Europe and runs every year on the beautiful venue of Hove Lawns (Brighton) featuring an exciting lineup of water sports – surfing, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding (SUP) and kitesurfing to name a few. Paddle round the Pier also has a pawsome event for doggos – The Paddle Round The Pier Doggy Paddle where dogs and their owners take to SUP paddleboards for a 15-minute group paddle of 25 metres to attempt a world record for the most dogs (and humans on paddleboards).
To take part in Paddle Round The Pier Doggy Paddle you do need to bring your own board to take part in the event (the organisers may have some spare to borrow on the day but this is not guaranteed so get there early).
However, even if you’re not taking part this is a great event to watch and then enjoy the rest of the festival fun, see the festival timetable here with what’s on.
The Paddle Round The Pier Festival takes place on 06-07 July 209 with the doggy paddle taking place on 07 July at 11am – you need to be signed in by 10:30 and be on the beach by 10:45 to take part. FREE but please register here.
Please note: Dogs must be over 1 year of age and in good health. Any dogs that appear to be aggressive or stressed in any way will not be able to participate.

One of London’s best rooftop bars, Savage Garden, has gone barking mad by introducing the special monthly ‘Savage Garden Rooftop Dog Brunch’ due to popular demand.
*** Updated, read our review of the Savage Garden Dog Brunch here ***
Dubbed as London’s wildest sky-high destination, Savage Garden, brings decadent décor, jaw-dropping views, dramatic cocktails and savage menus to Tower Hill. Located atop the DoubleTree by Hilton, the ethos is focused on the unexpected. Two terraces provide 360-degree views of the London skyline including The Shard, Tower of London, The Gherkin and St. Paul’s Cathedral.
Guests have a wide variety of savagely good brunch dishes to choose from off the a la carte menu that is as far removed from traditional brunch items as possible. Panko chicken cutlet, bacon and radish salad, cranberry, caper, sriracha mayo and a sunny-side fried egg, as well as bourbon-glazed beef short rib, charred sourdough and poached eggs’, are tipped to be some of the favourites.
Cocktails are abundant, with bloody mary ‘red snappers’ and zesty mimosas all making an appearance. Pooches will receive a Savage pupcake baked with delicious dog-friendly ingredients.
Bring your pooch to this sky-high destination and enjoy a day out with your best friend. This brunch is definitely not going to the dogs.
And if you don’t have four legs, you can still come and enjoy the usual Play Brunch that is on offer and make some new furry friends.
The Savage Garden Rooftop Dog Brunch takes place from 12pm until 4pm with reservations at 12pm, 1pm or 2pm. To reserve your table visit www.savagegarden.co.uk or call 020 7709 1043.

Sighthound Sundays Birthday Walk x Pride | Sighthound owners, lovers & friends are welcome to join us on Sunday 7th July for a stroll through Victoria Park followed by a picnic to celebrate our 1st Birthday and London Pride!
Meet us on the large grassy verge next to the Crown Gate, West Park entrance, opposite the Pavilion Cafe.
We will also be selling raffle tickets for our Summer Fundraiser, tickets are only £5 each, bring cash!
Summer Fundraiser: As part of our commitment to support independent dog rescue charities and not for profits we are curating a stunning selection of original and personalised arts and craft based prizes that would be hard to resist without the good causes attached to it! The Festive Fundraiser raised £1,800 for sighthound rescues, let’s hope the Summer one is equally generous!
Walk Format:
Greyhounds, large sighthounds and nervous dogs will leave first with designated walk leaders colour coded green.
When they arrive at the final field they will get into position for the family photo.
Whippets and small sighthounds will be split into 2 smaller groups and leave with their walk designated walk leaders – colour coded red and blue.
When the 2 whippet groups arrive they will remain ON LEAD and get into position behind & beside the greyhounds.
Ben, Ivor & Matt will take family photos, some words will be said, final walk donations made.
Those that would like to stay for a play will walk on a little bit further before breaking off into a couple of smaller groups for some off lead socialisation.
The rest of the group will settle for a picnic & social hang, bring some food & drink!
Suggested walk donation is £3 per dog (goes into the SHS Fund to support sighthound rescues) and can be made on the day or via PayPal hello@sighthoundsundays.com

Dogs at Pride – Mildred the Sausage’s Pride Party will be taking place during London LGBT Pride on Saturday 6th July in Soho with dogs of all breeds gathering to celebrate Pride.
Over 100 dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes in fabulous rainbow outfits are expected to attend, including Instagram-famous dogs. Mildred the Sausage and her mummies, who originally co-founded the Sausage Walk London which saw 1000 dachshunds gather in Greenwich Park in March 2018, are the organisers. Dogs at Pride is in collaboration with BrewDog Soho hosting a ‘pawty’ for four-legged pals of all breeds who want to spread the message of acceptance, love and hope for the LGBT+ community at Pride in London.
As dogs are not able to march in the official parade and the outdoor noise and crowds can be overwhelming, the event will provide a safe space for doggies who want to hang out in support of LGBT+ humans and celebrate Pride. Entry is free and the event is open to well-behaved dogs of all breeds and their families. The venue is the downstairs bar of BrewDog Soho and special dog beer and treats will be available.
To join Dogs at Pride – Mildred the Sausage’s Pride Party (which is free to attend), dog owners should visit www.mildredthesausage.com for more information, but there is no need to pre-register.
Space in the dedicated event area will be limited on the day for safety reasons, so guests are advised to arrive early. Spectators without dogs are kindly requested to stay in the main bar area.

There’s another Picturehouse Central Dog-friendly Screening on 14th July, this time for the film ‘Yesterday’. Read our review of Picturehouse Central Dog-friendly Screenings here.
Yesterday Film Synopsis:
From Danny Boyle and Richard Curtis comes a British musical comedy about dreams of stardom and unexplained phenomena. Aspiring singer-songwriter Jack Malik (Patel) is struggling with his career. He’s just a man with big dreams and a guitar, loved and supported by his childhood best friend, Ellie (James); and he’s far from famous. Until one day, during a mysterious global blackout, a car hits him and he comes round to find that nobody remembers The Beatles – apart from him! Feeling obliged to bring the legendary melodies of the Fab Four back to life, and with a little help from his steely American agent (McKinnon), Jack rises to global stardom faster than you can say, ‘I believe in yesterday.’ But he may have taken on more than he can handle.
Always a popular event, tickets are £16.90 for adults and are available here.
Picturehouse Central Dog-friendly Screening Impawtent Info
Well-behaved dogs and their friendly owners (one dog per adult) are welcome at select film screenings which usually takes place on Sunday morning. It’s a great way for dog owners to enjoy cinema without having to leave their best friend at home and to meet fellow dog-owning film fans.
Water is always available and all dogs sit on a blanketed seat so as to avoid any hairs or mess. After the event, the screen is thoroughly cleaned making sure our furry friends leave no trace behind. To further cater to cinema-loving pooches, the volume is dipped as they have superhero hearing powers.
Should a dog become unruly or adversely affect the enjoyment of others, the Manager needs to intervene and, if necessary, request that the owner and the dog leave the premises. No refund will be offered.
