Can you believe it’s August already…we simply can’t believe the last month of summer has come around so quickly! It’s going to be a busy month again for London doggos with over 40 events on the doggy to-do list in and around London so far. This month the line-up is jam-packed (pardon the pun) with of dog-friendly afternoon teas and brunches, so for dogs and humans who like to socialise (and their food), this month is for you. Whatever takes your fancy, here’s our handy round-up of ‘London Dog Events And Things To Do August‘ to help you get your doggy diaries sorted!

And don’t forget, if you prefer to see the events in regular chronological date order, you can see this on our London Dog Events Calendar.

Our pick of the pack this month is the Radley x South Place Hotel dog-friendly afternoon tea – it’s only on for selected dates during August (and one in September) so get your paws on a place for you and your human quick – read our review here.

We’re looking forward to the WOOF Exhibition at Box Galleries by Agentha Sjogren in Chelsea. Not only do the dog art pieces look amazing but the exhibition is raising money for a cause close to our heart, Animal Rescue Kefalonia. The exhibition is dog-friendly throughout the time it is running but on 10th August, there’s a special ‘paw’-view for dogs and owners with dogs getting their own goody bag! RSVP details in the WOOF Exhibition event link below.

As always, you can click on any of the event links below for more details on the events…have an awesome August puppers!

One of London’s best rooftop bars, Savage Garden, has gone barking mad by introducing the special monthly ‘Savage Garden Rooftop Dog Brunch’ due to popular demand.
*** Updated, read our review of the Savage Garden Dog Brunch here ***
Dubbed as London’s wildest sky-high destination, Savage Garden, brings decadent décor, jaw-dropping views, dramatic cocktails and savage menus to Tower Hill. Located atop the DoubleTree by Hilton, the ethos is focused on the unexpected. Two terraces provide 360-degree views of the London skyline including The Shard, Tower of London, The Gherkin and St. Paul’s Cathedral.
Guests have a wide variety of savagely good brunch dishes to choose from off the a la carte menu that is as far removed from traditional brunch items as possible. Panko chicken cutlet, bacon and radish salad, cranberry, caper, sriracha mayo and a sunny-side fried egg, as well as bourbon-glazed beef short rib, charred sourdough and poached eggs’, are tipped to be some of the favourites.
Cocktails are abundant, with bloody mary ‘red snappers’ and zesty mimosas all making an appearance. Pooches will receive a Savage pupcake baked with delicious dog-friendly ingredients.
Bring your pooch to this sky-high destination and enjoy a day out with your best friend. This brunch is definitely not going to the dogs.
And if you don’t have four legs, you can still come and enjoy the usual Play Brunch that is on offer and make some new furry friends.
The Savage Garden Rooftop Dog Brunch takes place from 12pm until 4pm with reservations at 12pm, 1pm or 2pm. To reserve your table visit www.savagegarden.co.uk or call 020 7709 1043.

This picnic sounds like it will be entertaining to say the least.

Woof Exhibition at Box Galleries x Agnetha Sjogren | Box Galleries is holding a special exhibition WOOF! in collaboration with internationally acclaimed Swedish artist, Agnetha Sjögren and Animal Rescue Kefalonia (ARK) offering 10% of all sale proceeds to the amazing charity. This is a cause close to our hearts where over 350 cats and dogs have been rescued and are looking for donations /adoption / volunteering.
WOOF! will feature an exclusive collection of bronze and cartoon related dog sculptures as well as prints by Swedish Artist Agnetha Sjögren. Whether it’s using Tin Tin cartoons or vintage fabrics from her mother’s wardrobe, Agnetha’s covered dog sculptures manifest into a well-travelled and groomed canine. Each unique handmade dog – part Labrador, part Dalmatian, part cartoon – is authenticated with a signed ‘mini passport’ containing a personalised story. This will be the focus of the show, amongst a mixed contemporary collection.
London-based artist Agnetha Sjögren has a growing reputation for her unique dog sculptures which are sought after worldwide. Her exquisitely hand-crafted one-of-a-kind sculptures and limited-edition prints have been seen in high-end
magazines including Vogue, Elle and Design Week, and exhibited at venues in Shanghai, Hong Kong, London and China to name a few.
Her dogs can be found in private collections around the globe – actors Angelina Jolie and Jude Law are among her collectors. They have been featured in fashion shows in New York and Moscow and were on the Aesthetica Wish List 2011 alongside pieces by Stella McCartney, Louis Vuitton and Elin Høyland.

About Underdog International
“The world is a better place when we live in harmony with nature and the other creatures on our planet.
One way for children to appreciate the connection we have to all living creatures is by creating shared experiences. Most often, this happens when we create a bond with a family pet, particularly dogs.
In recent years, research has proven how beneficial, and valuable, the bond between dog and human has become.
This is why the Underdog International focuses on initiatives that share these vital experiences with as many children across the world as possible”. Nadine Kayser – Founder & CEO

This August Bank Holiday Sunday (25 Aug) from 11am, Culture Mile presents Smithfield Street Party: A Beastly Adventure, a fantastical free street party where animals top the bill, curated by the Museum of London.
The street party will feature a dog-friendly zone where your group can gather, with plenty of water and space for them to relax. Please get in touch with Olivia Carlin ocarlin@museumoflondon.org.uk for further information.
In this year’s take on Culture Mile’s annual festival, all London’s animals – past, present or future, large and small, rare and familiar – will be taking over the streets around Smithfield Market for one day only to teach humans the secret ways of their world.
Imagined, visible or overlooked, larger than life or minuscule, all the animals will make an appearance at an unmissable party full of music, performances, workshops, games and play with 10,000 human party animals in one of Smithfield’s wildest events of the year. Inspired by the original Bartholomew’s Fair and the Museum of London and Guildhall School of Music & Drama’s Beasts of London experience, Smithfield Street Party invites all of London’s families, including their four-legged canine members, to come and take part in a day full of free beastly fun.
A host of other activities for all ages will animate the ancient streets throughout the day including bands, choirs, craft market stalls, zine-making workshops, history tours with The City Guides, dog shows, funfair rides and lots of surprises.

The World’s Original & Best Festival For Chihuahuas Is Back With A Bang In A Fest of Chihuahuas – Summer of Love Special on August 31st 2019.
Back for a fourth pawsome year, Haus of Chihuahuas brings you the wooftastic 2019 Fest of Chihuahuas.
Put on your hippie hat, beads and flowing festival attire and come with an open heart because we are making 2019 officially the Summer of Love for chihuahuas, their owners and their adoring fans alike.
It will be a truly unforgettable day for chihuahuas and their adoring humans, packed full of unique entertainment and activities.
There will be flower power and stardust at in the grounds of the beautiful Royal Windsor Racecourse as we bring together hundreds of chihuahuas from all around the world for a celebratory day in a safe environment.
Fest of Chihuahuas, in association with Chihuahua Rescue UK and the world renowned Wild at Heart Foundation, raises awareness and funds for dogs in care or dire situations. Chihuahuas are one of the fastest rising breeds that are in need of urgent care following neglect or abuse by owners who had wrongly assumed that these small, but mighty, dogs belong in a handbag.
Fest of Chihuahuas – Summer of Love will include exciting performances from Fest favourite, television star Lucky Chihuahua and our newest star performer, and last years ‘King of the Ring’, Toastie the Chihuahua. Both are outstanding stunt dogs with incredible talent proving that size doesn’t matter.
There will be an official Guinness World Record Attempt and we will put on our much adored and anticipated Chi Idol with celebrity judges and a range of huge and varied prizes. Add to this free Doga sessions, have a go agility, our arts corner where you can have a customised picture of yourself and your dog, a specialist chihuahua themed marketplace and much more.
Not to forget our brand new innovation of a unique ‘Dogs of Instagram’ corner where you can have your picture taken with Instagram’s most followed and loved stars, on site talent agents ready to spot their newest models and a the equally new holistic area where you can have you dogs paw read, find out about their past lives and how to massage their aching bones after a long walk!
Every dog – and its owner and friends – truly has its day at Fest of Chihuahuas. We pride ourselves on our wonderful community who turn out year upon year to meet old and new friends and celebrate our favourite breed. Don’t miss out and save the date early!
Keep up to date with news and announcements at the Fest of Chihuahuas – Summer of Love official event page and the Haus of Chihuahuas Community Facebook group where you can join the tribe, share pictures and talk to hundreds of our past happy attendees.

Dog-friendly Cinema Greenwich Picturehouse Animals – On 11th August you can bring your dog to the cinema once more, this time to Animals – a celebration of female friendship and an examination of the choices we make when at a crossroads. Animals is an honest, funny, edgy and bittersweet snapshot of modern women.
Laura and Tyler are soulmates. Thirty-something best friends and revellers residing in Dublin, they’re ingrained in the fabric of each other’s lives – dating, partying, drinking and living without limitations.
American ex-pat Tyler (Alia Shawkat) – a siren of drugs, alcohol and debauchery – lures aspiring writer Laura (Holliday Grainger) away from her long-overdue novel as well as her new beau, the irresistibly handsome Jim. A teetotal classical pianist, Jim is the antithesis of Tyler and the world she and Laura inhabit, and his presence puts the girls’ hedonistic double act in jeopardy.
Tyler wants to keep the party going, but Laura, buoyed by Jim’s restraint and stability, starts to emerge from her years of excess. Caught between desires – youth and adulthood, her old self and her future self – Laura impulsively gets engaged to Jim. Bereft at the thought of losing of her partner in crime, Tyler spies a chance to rock the boat of the “perfect” life Laura sees on the horizon, but in doing so inadvertently helps Laura find an unexpected path to independence.
Watch the Animals trailer here.
Dog-friendly Cinema Greenwich Picturehouse Animals is a dog-friendly screening – customers are welcome to bring their well-behaved dogs into the cinema for this special screening. Read Picturehouse’s Dog-friendly policy before you book.
Tickets are £14.50 for adults, get yours here.

Dog Events And Things To Do August – Don’t Forget To Do…
August is the last month to visit the beautiful Mayfield Lavender Farm in Banstead just outside of London. Read our review of our visit here if you’re thinking of going, but we do recommend going mid-week if you can. It’s an absolutely gorgeous spot and smells divine!

It’s also the ‘pawfect’ time to enjoy some outdoor cinema at the dog-friendly Rooftop Film Club in Peckham, we had the best time when we went along last summer.

Fancy seeing a different side of London by boat? Why not explore the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and take one of the dog-friendly boat tours down the River Lea whilst the weather is still nice, read all about our boat tour with Belinha here.
