Dogs are always welcome to come and play at dog-friendly Skylight London although Skylight does also host a special dog day or two. We went along to this year’s Skylight London dog day to see just how dog-friendly this cool London rooftop with spectacular views, really is.
Set in the backstreets of Wapping, along a road with nondescript warehouse arches; initially, we wondered if we were in the right place. Turns out we were. After being ushered into the entrance by the friendly doorman who made sure to give Belinha a pat, we found our way up to Skylight London through what was clearly a former car park near Tobacco Docks. On that note – we should say if your pup has problems with stairs, this is probably not for you unless you can carry them as we didn’t spot a lift.

Dog-friendly Skylight London
Once we got up to Skylight London, we were pleasantly surprised at the rooftop playground that awaited – think colourful pergolas, astroturf aplenty and even a sandpit or two. And all dog-friendly, of course.

Set over a few floors, Skylight London’s piece de resistance has to be its stunning rooftop with views over London to the Gherkin and the Shard (we’d only seen views like this previously from the dog-friendly Rooftop Film Club and Bussey Rooftop Bar in Peckham). This year at Skylight London saw the addition of rooftop day beds for summer and come November, there will be igloos for winter and even an ice-rink which sounds fabulous!
On a sunny day, the rooftop can get quite hot so we would recommend booking a daybed for a spot in the shade for you and your pup. These are great for groups so why not get a few two and four-legged friends together to share the experience (and cost). Don’t worry, if there’s no space upstairs, there’s plenty of covered space downstairs between the bar and croquet area.

Pups can Play too at Skylight London
Humans can book in to play Croquet, Petanque or Table Tennis and as long as you don’t have a dog who would likely disappear with the balls, your dog is welcome to join you too. We met a friendly chap called Leo joining his humans for Croquet, as you do.

Feeling peckish? Skylight have you covered with food too. Head down to the vast bottom level to find more games and the resident restaurant pop-ups, currently, Yiro (Greek) and Flipside (Burgers) who were super accommodating to create off-menu options. The food options will change for winter along with the decor.
Dogs at Skylight + All You Need to Know
Are dogs allowed at Skylight London? Dogs are most definitely allowed at Skylight London but as it’s a bar that’s open until late, similar to other venues like this such as the Fulham Beach Club (Neverland), dogs are allowed until 6pm on Friday’s and Saturdays as it can get quite noisy (allowed all day on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays). Water bowls are provided and on the special dog days, lots of treats for the pups too (as well as for humans).
How much is the entrance?
Entrance to Skylight London is free unless there is a ticketed event.

Do I need to book?
If you want to book one of the activities or a day bed/igloo then you will need to book which you can do here. Otherwise, there’s no need to.
