Event Details

The Saltdean Lido Dog Swim has to be our favourite dog event of the year and we’re so pleased that it will be able to take place this year! The Saltdean Lido Dog Swim 2020 means it is back for its fourth year and once again there will be two weekends where dogs can take over Saltdean Lido for the end of season dog swim! The Saltdean Lido Dog Swim will take place on the 19/20 September AND the 26/17 September 2020 which is pawsome news!

Saltdean Lido Dog Swim 2020 - 4

If you want to know more about this brilliant event, then read our features on the 2019 and 2018 dog swims to find out what’s in store and other useful info:

Humans can also go along of course, either as spectators if you don’t plan to actually swim with your dog but to stand on the side or you can get human swimming tickets too if you plan to join your dog in the water.

Saltdean Lido Dog Swim 2020 Sessions & Tickets

Because of the need to protect your Humans this year, we’ve had to restrict the number of Humans per session, there will be 5 sessions on each of the 4 days. So whether you want to leap into the deep end, dip a paw or slide in the paddling pool or chase the water jets in the wet play area, this is the time to do your thing and drop your Human a Hint and don’t let them forget that tickets tend to sell out quickly!
Pups, please remember the rules:
  • If your Human wants to swim with you, then they’ll need a Human Swim ticket, but if you prefer them to stand at the poolside and throw a toy, then a Spectator ticket is fine.
  • For H&S reasons, under-16s aren’t allowed in the pool. (This applies to Humans only!)
  • There is an absolute No Aggression policy
  • Under-16 Humans are welcome with a spectator ticket and can play with you from the poolside.
There are also a few rules for Humans:
  • Tickets will not be sold on the door this year and everyone should socially distance whilst queuing outside, so that one of the volunteers can tick you off the ticket list prior to the gate opening.
  • The lido does not have any changing facilities this season, so please make sure that your Human comes prepared. There’s plenty of space for changing under a towel afterwards.
  • Because it’s so difficult to socially distance poolside (around both pools), even though we’re out in the open, all adult Humans who are not swimming should wear a facial covering when in the congested areas.

Session times are: 9am-10.30am; 11am-12.30pm; 1pm-2.30pm; 3pm-4.30pm and 5pm-6.30pm

Ticket prices are very reasonable: £7.50 for swim tickets – (dogs or humans) and £3.00 for spectators (+ booking fee) with all funds raised from the Saltdean Lido Dog Swim going to support the upkeep of this beautiful Grade II listed art deco lido.
