The special pet blessing service at St John the Baptist Holland Park in London is held to mark the Feast of St Francis the patron saint of animals (the Feast of St Francis is on October 04).

This annual service at the beautiful Grade 1 St John the Baptist Church is the only well-established animal blessing in London and is truly a wonderful occasion for four-legged friends, whatever their species as any pet is welcome. Read our feature on the Pet Blessing Service which we were lucky enough to be able to attend in the company of many dogs and even one very brave cat!

This year, the Pet Blessing Services take place on Sunday 03 October at 4pm and Monday 04 October at 4pm. There will be tea and cake for the humans afterwards so both people and pets can socialise, after what will no doubt be an emotional experience for each pet owner there. We can highly recommend this truly special event.

As St John’s is a dog-friendly London Church, pets are also welcome at the weekly Sunday service (but please note that there is not a pet blessing at the regular service).

Where: St John the Baptist, Holland Road London, W14 8AH

Tickets: For safety reasons, this event is ticketed.  The £10.75 ticket includes light refreshments.  If the cost would be a barrier to you attending, please contact us at: office@hollandparkbenefice.org.  Please purchase one ticket per adult human – your pet doesn’t need a ticket to join us. Pet Blessing Service Tickets available here.

Virtue Vets will also be attending on Sunday 04 October and will have goodie bags for your pet.
