Event Details
Don’t miss the chance to see the amazing touring artwork Gaia by Luke Jerram at Dog-friendly St John The Baptist Church in Holland Park until 6th August 2022. Measuring seven meters in diameter, Gaia features 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the Earth’s surface*.
A specially made surround sound composition by BAFTA award-winning Composer Dan Jones is played alongside the sculpture. In Greek Mythology, Gaia is the personification of the Earth. Gaia has been created in partnership with the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), Bluedot and the UK Association for Science and Discovery Centres.
Live music is also included in the session on Tuesday 2nd of August and Thursday 4th of August at 9:30 pm.
St John the Baptist is a dog-friendly church and well-behaved dogs are welcome to visit the Gaia installation with their owners. Tickets for this once-in-a-lifetime event are free, get your tickets here.
*The imagery for the Gaia by Luke Jerram artwork has been compiled from the Visible Earth series, NASA.
After it visits St John the Baptist Church, Gaia Earth will be headed to All Saints Church in Notting Hill from 09-14 August, however, please note that All Saints Church is not dog-friendly so take the chance to visit this stunning installation at St John the Baptist.
