A firm favourite amongst dogs south of the river, London’s favourite all-day brunch restaurant has headed north, with its first North London location – dog-friendly Megan’s Islington, opening this week. And seeing as Megan’s is such an advocate for our four-legged friends, of course, there was the usual launch night for dogs to kick things off in style. We went along to check it out…
Dog-friendly Megan’s Islington is located in Islington Square where the old Royal Mail Sorting Office used to be (hence the name Megan’s at the Sorting Office). And this is the seventh dog-friendly London restaurant that Megan’s adds to its collection.
Up until now, nearly all the Megan’s, except the High Street Kensington branch, have been in South London. So Megan’s heading North is big news for North London dogs wanting a taste of this South London dog-friendly favourite.

Just like the other dog-friendly Megan’s restaurants, expect stunning decor, a delicious menu, and of course, those famous Megan’s dog beds to welcome the hounds. Doggy treats are also available for pups to snack on while lounging on their beds, just ask your waiter, and you will be served!
In fact, the dog beds were a firm favourite with all the pups at the doggy launch night. Belinha even found one big enough for her, and Belinha’s doggy dinner date Roxy found one named after her own human Megan!

Megan’s Islington seems to be a larger venue than a lot of the other Megan’s, but that may be the impression you get due to how it’s laid out. One new addition we spotted (and loved), was the library and lounge area which I have no doubt will be a firm favourite on weekends – Belinha and Claude certainly made themselves at home here!

The Meditteranean influenced menu is delicious. I had the Halloumi Posh Kebab – an open Halloumi Kebab with flatbread, harissa hummus, pickled veg, aubergine & tomato ‘bayildi’ and pickled red cabbage. This was followed by the Half Baked Cookie Dough – Cookie dough stuffed with melted Nutella, half baked in the oven and topped with salted caramel ice cream, pistachios and honey. Do not leave Megan’s without trying this dessert – it’s delicious! Just don’t try and eat it all yourself as I did, this is definitely a dessert made for sharing.

Finally, Megan’s wouldn’t be Megan’s without another gorgeous interior. And as usual, the design and decor at Megan’s Islington didn’t disappoint, with fairytale lighting and beautiful floral details set against a Mediterranean inspired backdrop of blue throughout. Quite simply, it’s stunning – all it needs is more dogs to make it picture-perfect, so it’s a good job dog-friendly Megan’s Islington shouts about how much they love pups!
