Here’s a post about a previous Doggy Splash Day at Streatham Common from the event organisers to see what it’s all about.

Dog-Friendly Cinema At Picturehouse Central October 2018: Dog-friendly Cinema at Picturehouse Central is back on 7th October with the film The Wife.

Joan Castleman has spent forty years sacrificing her own talent, dreams and ambitions to support her charismatic husband Joe and his stellar literary career. Ignoring infidelities and excuses made in the cause of his art, she has put up with his behaviour with undiminished grace and humour. The foundations of their marriage have, however, been built upon a set of uneven compromises and Joan has reached a turning point.

On the eve of Joe’s Nobel Prize for Literature, the crown jewel rewarding a spectacular body of work, Joan will confront the biggest sacrifice of her life and some long-buried secrets. Based on the bestselling book by Meg Wolitzer, The Wife is a poignant, funny and emotional journey, a celebration of womanhood, self-discovery and liberation, with a stunning cast.

Tickets are £16.50 (Adults) and dogs go free! Read  our review of Dog-Friendly Cinema At Picturehouse Central here.

This film is 15 rated.

FUNDRAISING
There’s no set fee to take part in any Schnauzerfest walk. We take the ‘honesty box’ approach and everyone is welcome to give as little, or as much as they choose to (or nothing at all in fact!). Every penny raised by Schnauzerfest will go towards helping dogs saved from terrible backgrounds get all the care and veterinary treatment they need, so they can go on to have good lives.

By donating online, please claim GIFT AID if you are eligible. Donations can be made before or after the walks and no-one is going to check what’s been made or not. We want everyone to give what they’re able or willing to and to just enjoy taking part.

IMPORTANT: by attending the Schnauzerfest Crystal Palace 2018 walk, you agree that you’re doing so by your own choice and taking full responsibility for yourself, your dogs and do not expect hosts or anyone else associated with Schnauzerfest to take any responsibility for you or your dogs. Puppy Love Brunch Cinema Streatham | Puppy Love Brunch Cinema Club

Dogs may be a man’s best friend, but all too often, they get the short end of the (chewing) stick and miss out on much of the human fun. This is why the pooch-friendly Exhibit Bars in South London regularly host a series of canine-friendly cinema screenings for dogs and their parents to enjoy together. Not only do the screenings feature some of the best doggy movies of all time, but dogs will be treated to bottomless treats and a glass (or bowl!) of Pawsecco on arrival. These Puppy Love Brunch Cinema Streatham screenings are at Exhibit B in Streatham showing the film 101 Dalmations. You can see our exclusive  Puppy Love Brunch Cinema Club Preview review here at Exhibit Balham to see what it’s all about!

Exhibit B’s Dark Room screening area becomes a canine paradise with blankets and cushions for the dogs to relax on. All Puppy Love Brunch Cinema films have been hand-picked to be dog friendly and will be presented with lower audio levels so as not to scare the dogs. Tickets for screenings include brunch dish and an hour and a half of unlimited bubbles for human guests. Dogs go free and receive the full VIP treatment with bottomless treats, a glass of dog-friendly fizz on arrival, and as many hugs as they can cope with from the Exhibit team!

Tickets for Puppy Love Brunch Cinema Streatham (Film: 101 Dalmations) are available from: Dog-Friendly Cinema Exhibit Streatham| £25– cinema + brunch + 1.5hrs unlimited bubbly for human guests. DOGS – Go free in exchange for cuddles with the team (from the dogs not humans).

Join Mayhew at Burgh House Hampstead for an Evening for Mayhew International on October 14th 2018.

Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm

Location: Burgh House, Hampstead, NW3 1LT

Tickets: £15 per person

The Evening for Mayhew International includes:

• Guest hosts: actress, Rula Lenska and actor and animal activist, Peter Egan
• Reception Drinks and nibbles on arrival
• Musical Entertainment
• Q & A session with our Afghanistan Country Director – Dr Abdul Jalil Mohammadzai DVM

Get your tickets here.

All funds raised on the evening will go towards helping Mayhew International with their much-needed work and the funding of our Trap, Neuter, Release Programme in Kabul that we are planning to roll out following the success of our Rabies Vaccination Programme in the city.

Having registered as an NGO in Afghanistan,  the team at Mayhew Afghanistan in Kabul vaccinated more than 15 000 dogs, ca 75% of the population in Kabul in 13 months and we hope for the same success with our TNR programme which has a target of 6400 dogs in the first year.

There are many causes that lead to these circumstances including unregulated breeding of unneutered animals, limited knowledge and acceptance of neutering, limited veterinary provisions and preventative animal care, and poor waste management.

Mayhew is working to address these issues, working with government authorities, veterinary training establishments and local animal welfare groups to develop programmes that will provide a sustainable solution to the problem.
