Back for December with the next edition of Clapham Picturehouse Dog-friendly Cinema Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald showing on Sunday 2nd December 2018.

FIlm Synopsis

The second chapter of the Fantastic Beasts franchise delves back into J. K. Rowling’s enchanting Wizarding World, swapping the hustle and bustle of 1920s New York for the moody streets of Paris a year on, where a slew of new characters and wonderful beasts await discovery.

The powerful dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (a wildly white-haired Depp duded up in heinous style) has slipped the bars of custody and is out to purge the world of all non-magical beings. In a desperate bid to restore harmony, a young Albus Dumbledore (Law) calls upon the help of former Hogwarts student Newt Scamander (Redmayne) to stop Grindelwald and his growing army of pure-blood wizards in their tracks. But this only marks the start of a perilous quest into a world of dark magic.

Well behaved dogs are welcomed at the Clapham Picturehouse Dog-Friendly Cinema Fantastic Beasts! Read our review of our visit to Dog-Friendly Cinema at Clapham Picturehouse to see what’s in store.

Businesses in Hampstead Village, London are coming together to support Clementine the Bulldog’s Birthday Benefit, the first ever charity fundraiser to rescue a group of purebred British Bulldogs and a Bull Terrier from awful living conditions in China.

Clementine the Bulldog’s Birthday Benefit will take place at the Duke of Hamilton on Saturday 8 December in aid of the Edward Foundation, a charity who help Bulldogs at risk of abuse and used as a commodity.

The Edward Foundation have rescued over 1,000 dogs within the UK but recently took on the dogs from China having heard awful stories about their treatment.  The dogs are currently out of danger living in China in quarantine and receiving incredible care and will soon be flying over to new lives in England thanks to be donations.

Good News! The first dog has successfully completed the flight from China to the UK and will be guest of honour at the fundraiser on Saturday 8th December.

The event is the brain-child of Stacey James who moved to Hampstead from the USA last year. Stacey who has her own Bulldog Clementine and has turned Clementine’s 5th Birthday party into a successful fundraising event.

It costs approximately £1,000 per dog for the quarantine, pre-care and their ‘freedom flight’ to the UK.  Organisers are hoping that the local community in Hampstead will come out in force to support the event to get all of the British Bulldogs to the UK – a country where the breed first began.

The event organisers are encouraging an Instagram take-over on the day where people can post images of their own Bulldogs from across the world, watch videos from the event and share their comments. @cleverclementine, @hampsteadhounds, @theDukeNW3.

Clementine the Bulldog’s Birthday Benefit takes place on Saturday 8 December, at 1pm at the Duke of Hamilton, New End Avenue, Hampstead – humans and dogs all welcome! The event will be suitable for families with red-carpet photo opportunities, puppy play areas, limited doggie bags and lots of fun and fundraising, come and show your suppawt!
