The last London Dog Event of 2017 was all about Dogs in Christmas Jumpers. It took place on Saturday at boutique British Pub, The Windmill Clapham on the edge of Clapham Common. This was the third year that London Dogs were invited to show off their cracking canine Christmas outfits in the annual Windmill Clapham Christmas Dog Jumper Competition.
The Windmill Clapham is known for being super dog friendly, helped along by resident pub dog Max the Bernese Mountain Dog. Max is one of the dogs featured in the Great British Pub Dogs book and greets all visitors to The Windmill with a gentle and friendly sniff before taking a stroll around what clearly is ‘his pub’ (he has his own signs, ale and of course Insta).
The annual Christmas Dog Jumper Competition raises money for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home (as do Max’s bar treats) and prizes were kindly donated by local ethical and natural Pet boutique Woofs to Kittys.
There were traditional Christmas Dog Jumpers, Christmas Elves, dogs who forgot their jumpers and even a LA Lakers basketball shirt worn by Bailey (his owners said he was too big for a Christmas Dog Jumper).
And The Winners Were…
Bailey who definitely scored points for his basketball shirt take on a Christmas jumper…
6 month old Dexter who clearly has a stylish canine career ahead of him…
Beautiful Beau adopted just 3 days ago from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home…go Beau!
Max the elf who may have been the smallest entrant but who had the biggest personality in the house…
Good fun was had by all, even those who forgot their Christmas outfits and every dog in the house got a treat thanks to Woofs to Kittys…
We weren’t the only ones who thought The Windmill Clapham is the pawfect place to relax for both dogs and humans….
Dogs are more than welcome anywhere in this spacious and stunning pub with the exception of the far restaurant area. You can take your pooch for dinner however in this dining room which was simply fabulous!
The Windmill Clapham is definitely on our must visit list for London Dogs (and humans)…we think pub dog Max agrees.
