Cabbages and Frocks Market Dog Day Afternoon

On Saturday 25th April 2015, the weekly Cabbages and Frocks market in Marylebone village will be putting on a special Dog Day Afternoon after last year’s event was a barking success. One of the highlights of the day will be shows from the Good Boy Dog School and TV personality Dima Yeremenko, who appeared on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and ‘That Dog Can Dance!’. Dima and his dog will be presenting the same dog display as he did on Britain’s Got talent at 12 noon and 2pm.

Is Your Pooch a Star?

If you think so, why not enter your pooch into one (or more) of the competitions taking place from 2:30pm:

  •      “A bit of ruff” for mixed breeds
  •      Best dog trick
  •      Waggy tail
  •      Miniatures and toy breeds
  •      Matching pairs
  •      New kid on the Block – Best Puppy
  •      Lookalike (dog and owner)
  •      Best in show

Competitions will be judged by Chamois Rose-Wood of the Independent and Rob Alleyne of Dog Owners Club and as seen on BBC3 “Dog Borstal”. Make sure your pooch will be putting their best paw forwards!

Treats for You and Your Dog

Feel like treating yourself and your pooch? Don’t worry, there will be plenty of stalls to choose accessories for your pet and also for your home. Look out for Emily Burrowes who will be selling commissioned Dog Portraits and limited edition prints and Dog inspired homewares by The Enlightened Hound.

Make sure you also stop by and visit the Mayhew Animal Home and No To Dog Meat (the official campaigning body of the UK of the World Protection for Dogs and Cats in the Meat Trade). Purchasing their gifts on offer will help support the work they do to improve animal welfare.

Spreading the word: “No To Dog Meat”

As well as all the pawsome doggy stalls, fashion and food favourites such as the vintage stall selling used Hermes, Gucci handbags and accessories and Wharf Road Bakery’s macaroons with flavours such as pistachio, green tea and rose will be there. When it’s time for lunch, the Weeping Chef will be on hand, serving up a delicious doggy stew for the pooches and free range burgers for the humans.

So if you’re looking for something for the weekend, this is it. You may go home with a rosette or just some pawsome purchases for you and your pooch. Either way, it will be a fun filled day!
