There’s a doggie afternoon tea coming to town and we’ve got a sneak preview just for you. ‘A Pup of Tea’ is the latest addition to the dog-friendly London scene but listen up London doggos as this one is for a limited time only….six weeks to be precise.
Aside from the treats on offer for humans and hounds (more on those in a mo’), the best bit in our opinion is that ‘A Pup of Tea’ is in aid of less fortunate doggos from the Wild at Heart Foundation.
Who are Wild at Heart Foundation you may ask? Well if you watched the last season of The Apprentice you may remember they featured when the not so capable Apprentice candidates were sent to take pics of the fabulous Wild at Heart Foundation merch (those sweatshirts are totally on our lust list by the way) and managed to make a dog’s dinner of the task (pardon the pun).
More importantly, Wild at Heart Foundation supports animal welfare projects around the world by organising rescue projects, neutering programmes and education initiatives all with a laudable goal to reduce the world’s 600 million stray dog population.
The lovely Luna who we met at the ‘Pup of Tea’ VIP launch was one of the Wild at Heart dogs lucky enough to be rescued from Puerto Rico, how gorgeous is Luna! Putting it simply, Wild at Heart is a wooferful cause to support.
So What Is ‘A Pup of Tea’ – All You Need To Know
Canine connoisseur of dog-welcoming holidays & travel PetsPyjamas have teamed up with new dog-friendly Bluebird White City (sister to Bluebird Chelsea) to treat London dogs to ‘A Pup of Tea’ doggie afternoon tea over the next six weeks.
Starting this Sunday 22nd July and then every Sunday through to 26th August from 2.30pm – 5pm, the exclusive ‘A Pup of Tea’ afternoon tea will serve up a pup’s delight of vegan dog cookies, made with banana and vegan peanut butter, handmade by Bluebird Head Chefs Simon Gregory & Prashant Patil.
London’s Lily’s Kitchen will also have some deliciously wholesome vegan treats on the menu, all of which will be served in luxury dog bowls from PetsPyjamas of course.
Inspired by dog-friendly Bluebird Chelsea’s much-loved afternoon tea, humans can tuck into a three-tiered selection of Jam and cream fruit scones, Chocolate swiss roll, Carrot and citrus cupcakes (which we can personally say are delicious), Cucumber and Smoked Salmon as well as Cream Cheese sandwiches.
To round off this pooch perfect experience, each pup dining on the ‘Pup of Tea’ menu will receive a complimentary summer goodie bag from PetsPyjamas with a travel water bowl, yummy treats, toy and doggy essentials.
And all this for just £21.50 with a discretionary £1 donation added to all ‘Pup of Tea’ bills by Bluebird Cafe.
‘A Pup of Tea’ – The VIP Launch Party
‘A Pup of Tea’ kicked off in style with a VIP launch party this week, where the dogs were the VIPs of course. Belinha (aka Queen B) needed no prompting to accept the invitation to sample the menu and hang out with four-legged friends old and new, wearing an appropriately themed bow tie (from Winthrop Clothing Co) obvs.
The pups wasted no time getting into the party spirit and the canine treats on offer were devoured at first sniff before moving onto posing for the pupparazzi.
As for the humans, the scones and carrot cupcakes were met with resounding approval. It was a pawsome party to kick off what promises to be a fabulous event and one that will benefit Wild at Heart Foundation.
Although ‘A Pup of Tea’ is currently scheduled to run for six weeks we heard a little rumour on ‘The Dogvine’ (see what we did there), that all going well it could be extended. We’ll of course keep you updated if so, but do check with Bluebird White City too.
