9 Hertford Street | Why This is THE Dog Friendly Place To Stay in Mayfair

We love to sniff out London’s dog friendly places so when we were invited for a pooch-friendly stay at 9 Hertford Street, Mayfair’s ‘most pet friendly apartments’ we simply couldn’t resist.

Located in the heart of Mayfair, this can only be described as a perfect location if you’re visiting London, or even if you live in London like us! From the apartments, it’s just a short walk to see London’s much-loved sights and shopping areas.

Top of Belinha’s to-do list was to visit Her Majesty at Buckingham Palace…

When traveling with your four-legged friend, making sure there is easy access to a nearby park is a must and fortunately the wide open green spaces of Green Park (and Hyde Park) are also just a few minutes away.

Despite being in the heart of busy central London, 9 Hertford Street is located in the famous Shepherd Market whose quaint and picturesque alleyways hide a host of hidden delights, so you can easily forget you are slap bang in the centre of London and feel like you’ve gone back in time instead.

We were quickly coming to the conclusion that location wise, it couldn’t get any better. But more on that in a moment.

Let’s talk about 9 Hertford Street itself. These fabulous luxury pet friendly apartments not only welcome dogs but also other animals such as cats and rabbits too! On arrival we were certainly made to feel very welcome by James the concierge who immediately made a fuss of Belinha before showing us to our apartment.

Belinha wasted no time at all making herself comfortable (see if you can spot her below..)

9 Hertford Street – Doggy First Impressions

The 9 Hertford Street team had gone out of their way to make sure Belinha felt at home with her very own special welcome pack. A snuggly rug, toy and organic Lily’s Kitchen treats & food all met with Belinha’s approval. Wipes, paw towel and eco-friendly doggy waste bags were also kindly provided (but she wasn’t so interested in those).

However, the best bit was when James said there were no restrictions for dogs. Belinha’s (very large) ears pricked up at this and the sofas and comfy bed were immediately put to the test.

Safe to say they passed with wagging tails and flying woofs!

9 Hertford Street – Human First Impressions

We were super impressed with how spacious the apartments at 9 Hertford Street are. With two large comfy sofas and plenty of space for relaxing both indoors and outside on the balcony, you immediately feel relaxed and chilled.

Humans also get a welcome pack. Although the human one was more traditional, the complimentary Blenheim Palace mineral water was a nice touch.

For those who like their tech, the apartments have super-fast WiFi, a flat screen TV (with a full Sky package) and audio dock. And for those who don’t, plenty of books and magazines were thoughtfully provided to keep you entertained old school style.

Another lovely touch was the range of indulgent Arran Aromatics toiletries in the bathroom. Arran Aromatics is a cruelty-free brand so we thought that was the perfect choice for pet-friendly 9 Hertford Street. Plus they smell divine!

Good To Know

  •  If you’re traveling by car, being in the heart of Mayfair parking can be a pain. However, 9 Hertford Street have got this covered (pardon the pun) as they have underground parking available at £40/day.
  • The 9 Hertford Street apartments are easily accessible by Public Transport. Green Park (Victoria, Piccadilly and Jubilee lines) and Hyde Park Corner (Piccadilly line) are the closest tube stations.
  • Whilst we only stayed for one night, many people stay for longer…even up to a few months! This makes 9 Hertford St a great option for those who need a pet-friendly temporary home away from home in central London.
  • A late checkout can be arranged subject to availability.
  • Pet care can be organised by arrangement if you want to go out but don’t want to leave your pooch on their own in the apartment. Belinha was having none of that and was quickly ready to put her best paw forwards for a night out on London town….

Where’s Dog Friendly Nearby?

We sniffed out quite a few places close to 9 Hertford Street that were dog-friendly, here’s our pick:

To round off our pooch pampered getaway, the next day we took a stroll down to Covent Garden.  We couldn’t resist stopping off Covent Garden’s dog-friendly Shake Shack so Belinha could try out their special ‘Woof’ menu before finishing off with some doggie-licious shopping at Bow-Wow London.

So is it a Paws Up for 9 Hertford Street?

The location is unbelievable, the accommodation is really welcoming and comfortable and there are lots of lovely touches. And last but by no means least, the staff were fantastic. So yes, it most definitely is!

9 Hertford Street is most definitely THE place to stay with your four-legged friend in Mayfair…

And definitely got Belinha’s paw of approval!

9 Hertford Street offer ‘Pet Friendly Packages’ (£350/night with a 2 night minimum stay) to pamper you and your pet.

Belinha is looking absolutely fantastic, the pictures are brilliant. I love the one with the double bone scoop ice-cream, what a picture, then the one near Buckingham Palace, the girl is a star, top doglet model. My goodness I’d love to give those magnificent ears a rub, they are irresistible. She’s having a top dog life, good for Belinha. xx
