For those of you who’ve been on holiday (as have we), we hope you had a lovely time! And if you’re wishing those lazy Summer days weren’t drawing to a close, fear not…our What’s On Woofs of September Dog Events has plenty in the diary for you and your pup to beat those end of summer blues. In fact there are a whopping eight pawsome pup-focused events in our September Dog Events round-up! Read on to find out what’s hot this month…
Pup Aid 2016 – Saturday 3rd September
This event is an eagerly awaited date on the London canine calendar each year and rightly so! Organised by TV Vet Marc Abraham and held on Primrose Hill, the focus of Pup Aid is to raise awareness of the horrific puppy farming trade and the cruel suffering that goes along with it. With a fabulous dog show hosted by celeb judges, dog displays and plenty of stalls for browsing and shopping, it’s a fun day out with a serious message. Read our post on last year’s event to get a feel for it if you haven’t been already…definitely recommended by us here at The Dogvine!
Outdoor Screening of Best In Show (Dog Friendly) – Saturday 3rd September

This is a new addition to London’s canine calendar but promises to be a pawtastic one! Organised by the Nomad Cinema in aid of London’s The Mayhew Animal Home, dogs and owners are invited to a special doggy cinema evening and Outdoor Screening of ‘Best In Show’ in Queen’s Park. What better way to spend a Saturday evening, paws up who’s going?!
Battersea Annual Reunion and Fun Day – Sunday 4th August
If you’re the proud owner of a Battersea pup then the Battersea Annual Reunion and Fun Day is definitely the chance to catch up with old Battersea fur pals! And if you’re not or are a possible future Battersea ‘pup pawrent’, this is a pawsome event with plenty of fun, prizes and shopping for both four-legged and two-legged attendees alike.
RSPCA Big Walkies Essex – Sunday 4th September
Another in the RSPCA Big Walkies series, this time taking place in Bedfords Park, Essex. Whether you decide to do the 3k or 5k walk, it’s all about raising money for a good cause and having fun whilst doing so.
Victoria Park Dog Show – Sunday 11th September
Back for a second year after a successful debut in 2015, is the Victoria Park Dog Show in aid of London Rescue & Rehoming Charity All Dogs Matter. It’s all about your pup putting their best paw forwards in the dog show to be in chance with taking home a title. Does your dog have the waggiest tail in London or could your pup be the next Mr or Miss Victoria Park? Dog show places sell out fast so pre-register your dog to secure their spot.
Orvis Dog Festival – Wednesday September 14th
Orvis UK are inviting London Pups and Pawrents to come along to their flagship London store for the Orvis Dog Festival to celebrate the launch of their new range of dog products & dog beds. The ‘pawty’ kicks off from 2pm with plenty of fun not only from Orvis but also House of Paws, Rokabone, Benyfit Natural and Snuffle Dog Beer. From 6-8pm it’s then time to celebrate with man’s best friend with a drinks & canapes reception, dog treats included of course.
Bermondsey Street Festival Dog Show – Saturday September 17th
On the weekend, it’s time for another round of festivals and dog shows, this time at the barkingly good Bermondsey Street Festival Dog Show. Organised by the fabulous Holly & Lil The Collarmakers, expect lot’s of glitz and glamour for this one folks!
Chiswick House Dog Show – Sunday September 25th
To wrap up the September Dog Event festivities, we will be heading over to West London for the Chiswick House Dog Show. Set in the grounds of the beautiful Chiswick House, this is a wooferful event that we attended for the first time last year and can highly recommend! This year the show will be celebrating the Queen’s 90th Birthday so the Fancy Dress competition will be a ‘right royal affair’…Dog Save the Queen!
We hope you enjoyed our September Dog Events round-up! Don’t forget…our What’s On Woofs Calendar lists all the London Dog Events for each month as we hear about them and if you have a London Dog Event you’d like us to woof about, drop us a line and we’ll add it to the list.
Please send me emails of any upcoming events. For my pet @chihuahua_paws
