July is here and so is the next instalment of our What’s On Woofs to help your city pup plan the essential London Dog Events that need to be on their canine social calendar this month.
As always, all London Dog Events mentioned are human friendly too, so if you don’t have a pooch but just fancy a dose of super cute dogs for the day, you will be in pooch paradise. The only requirement is that you come ready to dispense lots of belly rubs, treats or both!
Canary Woof Dog Show – Sunday 3rd July
Coming to London, E14 for the first time this year (as woofed by Canary Woof DEO Champagne Charleeze aka Charley Pooh), this fun dog show will be part of LIMEFest 2016 and boasts some unique categories such as ‘Best Biscuit Catcher’.
The dog show will be hosted by Rob Alleyne UKRCB, Canine Behavioural Trainer and trainer on the BBC TV series Dog Borstal – so pooches be warned, you’ll need to put your best paws forward for this one! Plus Canary Woof have chosen our friends over at London Dog Rescue & Rehoming Charity All Dogs Matter to support with the event which we think is a pawsome choice!
A Dog’s Dinner II – Thursday 7th July
The Henry Root will be hosting their second Dog’s Dinner of the year on Thursday 7th July. This restaurant and dining room in the heart of Chelsea is extremely dog friendly on a normal day but on this occasion it’s definitely all about the dogs.
And it wouldn’t be a proper dog’s dinner without a theme, so get into the sporting spirit in the run up to the Wimbledon finals by coming in your best whites (that goes for your pooch too). There will be a raffle to raise money for – yes, here they are again….All Dogs Matter, and of course a prize for the best dressed pet!
Hounds On The Heath – Sunday 10th July
Next up and organised by our friends over at The Mayhew Animal Home is Hounds on The Heath. Previously known as Hyde Bark (read our post on last year’s event), The Mayhew’s summer event, now in its fifth year, has a new name and a new home but not much else has changed – it promises to be even more of a dogtastic day out than ever before.
There will be fun for the whole family including the four-legged members (obviously), with a celebrity judged dog show, an agility course provided by Friendly Creatures and a meet and greet with dog behaviourist expert Kevin McNicholas.

Pup Idol 2016 – Saturday 16th July
Last, but definitely by no means least is the long awaited All Dogs Matter annual Pup Idol event at The Garden Gate Hampstead (see our post on last year’s event here). A panel of celebrity judges will watch London’s pup’s take to the canine catwalk to compete in categories including Miss Hampstead, Cutest Pup and Golden Oldie (our paw-sonal favourite). There will also be the chance to meet and maybe even adopt, an adorable All Dogs Matter dog who is looking for their home in the ‘Dogs Looking For Homes’ Parade.

Celebrity Judges Michelle Collins and Ricky Gervais with Humphrey and Monty both All Dogs Matter Dogs

Teddy (who has met the Queen), Abi Top Dog @ All Dogs Matter and Puffin who was looking for a home (and has now found a lovely one).
Belinha is just looking forward to catching up with her celebrity pals again….
Hi there, thank you for the Canary Woof Dog Show plug. We had an amazing day with hundreds of dogs out in force
