Looking for some early festive fun this weekend with your dog? Why not head to the annual Hampstead Village Christmas Festival this Sunday 23rd November? There’s something for everyone and most importantly for our four-legged friends with the Santa Paws Grotto and Dog Contest with lots of dog goodies up for grabs if you think your four-legged friend has what it takes! The Santa Paws Grotto is sponsored by local rescue charity All Dogs Matter and Hampstead based organic & natural dog food company, Lily’s Kitchen amongst others, so there will be lots of lovely yummy treats on offer.
The event starts at midday and finishes at about 17:00 with the switching on of the Hampstead Village Christmas lights, this year by celebrities Jonathan Ross, Barbara Windsor and opera singer Angel Blue. Aside from the opportunity for lots of shopping and drinking with Hampstead’s unique mix of boutique shops and independent cafes, there’s plenty going on with a large main stage hosting music acts as well as lots of festive activities all along the high street. Things to enjoy include funfair rides, fire eaters, birds of prey, a petting zoo and Santa’s Grotto and his (real) Reindeer for the kids. To see where all the attractions are, download a copy of the festival map before you go and you can also view the festival brochure online.
